The
Golf Course and Club, set up by the Belgaum Golf Association
at Desur, is an 18 hole, 72 par, 7200 yards Golf Course. This
is the first public initiative for such facilities in the
whole of the Northern Karnataka-Goa region. Located on the
Deccan plateau, close to the Western Ghats and within two-hour
drive from Goa, Kolhapur and Hubli, the Golf Course is destined
to be a major tourist and golfing destination in the Northern
Karnataka-Goa region. In addition, the Belgaum Golf Course
and Club is the only course available to the public in this
region.
The
construction of a clubhouse to accommodate the basic amenities
has been completed, and the construction of additional facilities
is progressing. In addition, the Association has completed
a modern floodlit Golf Driving Range. The Association is a
registered public body under Karnataka Society’s Registration
Act of 1960. The Association is managed by an elected body
from amongst the permanent members. |
